Which would be better to go with 1/24 or 1/32, for slot car racing?

I am a beginner but I would like to enter into this in a competitive manner. But also I have a lot of money to spend.

1/24 seems to be the most popular. There will be only a slight difference in prices for cars and parts between sizes. eBay currently has 6223 items listed for slot cars. I have listed a number of sites that will give you more information and most have contact information where you can ask questions.
