What is the best slot car racing set?

Please get a race track slot electric industry set for my kids (& et? 8; 12) as a gift for a party. I see Carrera, AFX, etc.. What? the best (most funnest)? I had one as a kid but don 't remember the brand. Whole recommendation? appreciated. Thank you.
