Having problems getting my slot car track to run again ?

Hello I have a track groove of the car that I had put away for maybe 2 years and I settled on the day except it doesn 't work now as the only way that the car will work is whether to push on their work and even then only for a very short runway and then stop as soon as I 'VE tried cleaning the track and cars but no one seems to really help too any help is appreciated! Thanks!
