slot car

I got just the car for a track with slot cars that was used. It seems new. I wouldn 't think that has been played with a lot. But when I installed, cars didn 't go. Is there hobbists of the car of groove that can tell me some reasons that might be? Thank you

Dirt or hair on the contacts?
The track is not totally connected?

    1. check with volt meter that voltage is on the track. Could be a bad transformer suppling the track.
    2. contacts between car and track dirty.
    3. bad joints in the track pieces.
    4. dirty/broken motors in the cars.
    5. not plugged in.
